Clinical Services

At ALA we offer an extensive range of prosthetic treatments for all ages and activity levels. We make it a priority to assess the needs and requirements of each individual, and formulate a treatment plan to suit.

Our experience and knowledge combined with the personal approach helps make the experience of being fitted with a prosthesis one that is most satisfying for our clients and our staff.

ALA routinely provide comprehensive reports.  We work for claimants or defendants as well as on joint instructions.  Prosthetic's is technologically complex and current costs can be prohibitive with future costs continually increasing.   History shows many individuals are grossly under-reimbursed for their medical needs.  This is unfortunately results in their prosthetic costs far exceeding the funds available to them, particularly as technology advances. A report is furnished following an initial examination and assessment of the patient at the request of the solicitor on behalf of the plaintiff or the defence.  Our reports include device recommendation for the patient.

It can include current and possible future prosthetic or orthotic treatment and contains cost estimates for the patient’s lifetime.

To assist formulating this report we use video gait analysis and activity monitor data where possible to validate prescription and life style criteria.  A report usually takes around four to six weeks, following the consultation.  However, please let us know if the report is urgent and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

If you require assistance with a prosthetic or orthotic medico-legal report please contact us.
